The Ederle Inn has 132 rooms to include single rooms, family suites and 27 pet-friendly rooms (see the FAQs below for information on Pet Policies). Permanent Change of Station (PCS) travelers have priority and can request a reservation 180 days in advance. Temporary Duty Travelers can request reservations seven (7) days in advance. Temporary Duty Travelers can request reservations 45 days in advance. If you do not have USAREUR/USAFE-wide installation access and do not coordinate for installation access prior to your arrival, there may be a delay or in some cases denied access to the installation. Ask your sponsor for the best way to travel to your hotel (keep receipts to claim expenses on your travel voucher).

Off-Post Lodging
With limited space at on-post lodging, you may need to book overseas lodging at a local hotel. The Ederle Inn recommends staying at a local hotel that will accept TLA paperwork indicating that Soldiers are not required to pay Italian hotel taxes. This will make it much easier to complete a Travel Voucher.

AER 190-16 prescribes the policy, responsibilities and procedures for granting access to U.S. Forces installations in the European theater by using the Installation Access Control System (IACS). A copy of identification must be submitted with every request. A photo copy of all adult individual(s) passport(s) or Military ID card(s) will suffice. Persons under the age of 18 are not required to have a form of identification submitted.
For those personnel assigned in the USAREUR/USAFE footprint that have installation access granted in IACS throughout USAREUR/USAFE, access will be similar to that on your home-installation.
Individuals without a valid CAC, including Embassy personnel and diplomats, British military stationed in Italy, NATO serving in Italy or other DoD Identification Card, should be placed on the local Darby Military Community Access Roster. Failure to do so will result in substantial delays or possible denied entry to installation.
Certain aggressive dog breeds and exotic pets are prohibited from entering Italy or may require a special permit. Contact your installation Veterinary Clinic or Italian Embassy in your area for guidance. Service alert animals and pets are welcome on the local train from Vicenza to Venice; in Venice on gondolas; in the ruins of Pompey; and in the grand Teatro Olimpico theater in Naples (as long as you carry them in your arms). Service animals and pets are NOT allowed in the 3 major enclosed sites in Rome, including the Coliseum.
Civilians and family members must have an Italian visa attached to their official passport before coming to Italy. Visas cannot be obtained in country.
It is highly recommended that each adult driver obtain an International Driver’s License prior to arrival in Vicenza and have a valid Stateside driver’s license.
Is recommended that you also have a tourist passport for all Family members, including the Active Duty member. Â
