About Tripler Army Medical Center Lodging and IHG Army Hotels

The attack on Pearl Harbor led to the construction of the Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), which now serves as the headquarters of the Regional Health Command-Pacific. TAMC serves active duty and reserve military personnel, family members, veteran beneficiaries, residents of nine U.S. affiliated jurisdictions (American Samoa, Guam, and the former Trust Territories), and forward-deployed forces in more than 40 countries throughout the Pacific.

Tripler Army Medical Center History

Tripler Hospital was established in 1907 and housed in several wooden structures within Fort Shafter. It has grown into the largest hospital facility within the Honolulu census-designated area. The hospital’s color, pink coral, was chosen and modeled after the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki.

Tripler Army Medical Center Lodging

TAMC is located on Moanalua Ridge, which overlooks several Honolulu neighborhoods, including Moanalua and Salt Lake. The medical center’s massive coral-pink structures are visible from nearly anywhere within the Honolulu District.

IHG Army Hotels Tripler is approximately 4.5 miles from the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL).
