Hawaii Military Base Lodging

The Ultimate Guide to Hawaii Military Base Lodging

Aloha!

Booking the right place to stay on Oahu is essential to enjoying your stay in Hawaii. Military and certain federal employees may be eligible to stay at the lodging facilities on Hawaii's military bases. The government rates for military lodging are typically at or below the Hawaii per diem lodging rate for federal travel.

Hawaii Military Base Lodging Installation Specific Guide

Pick your installation and explore lodging choices, eligibility, and travel information at Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard locations on Oahu, Hawaii.

Since 2001, TDY Lodging has been the preferred extended stay housing provider to military, government, and corporate travel to Hawaii. Stay at the government rate in our fully furnished condos and extended stays in Honolulu.

Hawaii Military Base Lodging Eligibility

All lodging offices at Hawaii military installations will have eligibility criteria and a booking priority status that will vary depending on a servicemember's duty status, rank, and branch of service. Reservations can be made on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of rank or grade.

Oahu Military Base Lodging Availability

Depending on where you're going on the island, Oahu has plenty of base lodging options through the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS) Pearl Harbor on both the Pearl Harbor and Hickam sides of the installation, Navy Lodge Hawaii located on Ford Island, Tripler IHG Army Hotels lodging and short-term family housing for medical travel, or the Inns of the Corps Kaneohe Bay located on the Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

Non-Availability of Government Lodging on-Base

When government quarters are unavailable, travelers often choose to stay off-base at lodging within the per diem rate. The good news is that Honolulu has many options when there is no availability on base.

Certificate/Statement of Non-Availability (CNA)

Some installation guidance describes a CNA (Certificate or Statement of Non-Availability) as proof that government lodging was not available when required for official government travel. Whether you need a CNA or a similar confirmation depends on your orders and local policy. Still, the practical advice is consistent: keep a copy of your CNA with your travel records for filing a travel voucher.
